Shortly before our trip to Walt Disney World earlier this spring, I observed that I had not been doing much reading for a little while. As someone who has been an avid reader most of his life, it was, at first, a bit troubling to me to notice this. My first instinct was to just pick up one of the multiple books that I had “in progress”, but this was a futile activity. No sooner would I sit down to read, I would find myself drowsing off to sleep. I could not bring myself to focus long enough to get through more than a couple of pages without nodding off.

Re-energize

In yesterday’s post, I wrote about feeling like my batteries were drained. I’ve spent the past few months not really doing anything to help my state, so it was time to make a change.

A Year of Reading

Just about a year ago, I wrote a post about taking on a reading challenge for 2017 in an attempt to boost my somewhat waning reading habits. Now that nearly a year has passed, I’m quite satisfied with my overall results.

Over the better part of a year, I managed to read a total of 26 books (granted, some were plays/screenplays, but I’m counting them!) Although I haven’t checked off each of the categories in the original list, I did manage to cross off a number of them.
