One year ago today, my beautiful wife and I made a (very) long drive some 440 km back home from our aborted anniversary getaway weekend in Cape Breton. We had driven the same 440 km to Cape Breton the day before. A stomach bug got the best of the missus that day, and I was soon to follow after we got back home. We spent a miserable 72 or so hours for our 11th anniversary. That was when we decided we would book this year’s anniversary getaway on the spot. Booked and paid for a year in advance. Now we get to have some fun glamping.

Vacation Interruptus

Following up on my most recent blog post, here’s another slice of true life in the world of Chris.

Today is my wedding anniversary. Eleven years ago today, Isabelle and I tied the knot and have lived truly blessed lives since that day. I am very recognizant of the privileged life that I live, and I am eternally grateful for all of the abundance that I have in my life. But even a privileged life like mine isn’t always perfect, despite what social media may tell you. Here’s the brief rundown of our long-simmering trip to Cape Breton.

298 Days

If everything were to go according to plan, in 298 days, my wife and I, along with my brother and his wife, would be arriving in Walt Disney World. The purpose of our trip – twofold. Firstly, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World on October 1st. Secondly, and more importantly, to celebrate mine and Isabelle’s 10th wedding anniversary on October 1st.

Of course, our long-gestating plan may not play out as intended thanks to this lovely pandemic that we are still dealing with.
