Ho Ho Holiday Cheer

It’s that time of year! We are under two weeks away from Christmas Day. Can you believe that? Two weeks! This year has just flown by faster than I can even begin to understand. Yet here we are.

By this time in December, I’m usually knee deep into my Christmas viewing, listening to Christmas music, etc. But this year, I’m not there yet. I have only watched one single Christmas movie/special (Noelle on Disney+). I’ve just been too tired, both physically and mentally to invest myself any further.

But with two weeks to go, I recognize that it’s time to jump in with both feet. I think this might just be the boost I need to re-energize me for the rest of the year. So this week, I will let the spirit of the season wash over me. It all starts tonight.

One of my wife and mine’s yearly traditions is to head to the Capitol Theatre for the annual holiday spectacular, Noël avec Les Muses, les fères Belivo et Roland Gauvin. They are now in their 18th year. We’ve attended this show nearly every year since we’ve been together, and it always serves as the springboard into the season for us. I am very much looking forward to this evening’s show.

Here’s a little sample from the show

Up next, time to start my Christmas viewing. I’ll need to prioritize what I’m watching this year as I’m running out of time. At the top of my list will be the following movies/specials:

  • Muppet Family Christmas
  • A Christmas Story
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  • Elf
  • Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special
  • A Pinky & The Brain Christmas

Here’s hoping that you’re getting into (or already in) the holiday spirit. If not, you’ve still got time!

What would you do to boost your Christmas spirit? What movies or specials are on your must-watch list? Share your thoughts and traditions below!

Cheers!
