My manager gave me these metal cubes last week. The idea is to role them both and do what they say. The last time I rolled them, I was given the results above.
I like to think that I’m thankful for what I have in my life. I recognize how truly blessed I am. I have a happy, loving family, a good job, a nice home, caring friends, health, etc. But I am starting to realize that I have more to be thankful for in my life.
- I need to be thankful for the extra weight I wear around my waist; it is a sign of how well I live and of the abundance of food that I have at my disposal.
- I need to be thankful for my diabetes; it brought me to an awakening and change of attitude – a new appreciation for life (and, indirectly, a wife!)
- I need to be thankful for the ridiculous amount of money we’ve spent on windows over the past three years; that we were able to do it without using credit shows how comfortable we are financially (even if it doesn’t always feel that way).
- I need to be thankful for the fact that we haven’t been able to go on a big trip for the past few years due to having to put in windows; it has allowed me to appreciate the home we have, the beauty of our region, and will make me better appreciate our bigger trips when they happen again.
I want to start taking the time to truly look at the apparently negative things in my life and appreciate them for what they are. These cubes will become a regular part of my growth. I look forward to seeing what other revelations they will bring me.
